DWC Leaders Release Statement Calling for Speedy Ethics Investigation into Rep. Gomez

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Chair of the Democratic Women’s Caucus Teresa Leger Fernández (NM-03) and Vice Chairs Emilia Sykes (OH-13) and Hillary Scholten (MI-03) released the following statement of support for the House Committee on Ethics’ investigation into Representative Jimmy Gomez (CA-34) following allegations of sexual harassment and have called for a quick process. “The recent allegations against Representative Jimmy Gomez are disturbing and must be taken seriously. Allegations of workplace sexual harassment against women must be investigated and if substantiated, met with clear and meaningful consequences. We support the House Committee on Ethics’s investigation into Rep. Gomez, and call on them to release the status of their investigation, while protecting survivor privacy, before the 60-day blackout period ahead of Election Day. |
