The Democratic Women’s Caucus (DWC) is made up of all 97 Democratic Women in the United States House of Representatives—a historic high. Our members come from every corner of the country and every walk of life. We’re mothers and daughters, veterans and teachers, scientists and social workers, small business owners and community organizers. We’ve lived the same struggles that millions of women face every day, juggling work and family, fighting for fair pay, navigating health care, and caring for loved ones. Our stories are different, but our mission is the same: to build a better future for every woman.

Democratic women in the House have always fought for women and girls—and codified that mission through the founding of the Democratic Women’s Working Group in the 113th Congress and officially becoming the Democratic Women’s Caucus in the 116th Congress. Led by our Chair Teresa Leger Fernández (NM-03) and Vice Chairs Hillary Scholten (MI-03) and Emilia Sykes (OH-13), we advance this vision through bold, coordinated policy action in Congress and storytelling that connects legislation to lived experience. Through the leadership of our Executive Steering Committee, we champion task forces on the issues that impact women the most and work hand-in-hand with our House and Senate colleagues, community leaders, and advocacy organizations to fight for women.

DWC members also bring this shared vision and fight to their leadership roles in Congress. Several DWC members have key roles in House Democratic Leadership: Democratic Whip Katherine Clark (MA-05), Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi (CA-11); Democratic Steering and Policy Committee Co-Chairs Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (FL-25), Rep. Robin Kelly (IL-02), and Rep. Nanette Barragán (CA-44) help shape and implement House Democrats’ agenda. Democratic Policy and Communications Committee (DPCC) Chair Rep. Debbie Dingell (MI-06), DPCC Co-Chairs Rep. Lori Trahan (MA-03), and Rep. Lauren Underwood (IL-14), who lead House Democrats’ communication strategy, are also proud DWC members. There are also five DWC members who serve as Ranking Members on House Committees: Agriculture Committee Ranking Member Angie Craig (MN-02), Appropriations Committee Ranking Member Rosa DeLauro (CT-03), Financial Services Committee Ranking Member Maxine Waters (CA-43), Small Business Committee Ranking Member Nydia Velázquez (NY-07), and Committee on Science, Space, and Technology Ranking Member Zoe Lofgren (CA-18). The Chairs of the Congressional Black Caucus, Yvette Clarke (NY-09), and Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, Grace Meng (NY-06), are also DWC members.

Through all our work showing up in our districts, leading congressional work in D.C., and building a community to fight for women and families, we are aligned on our common goal to fight for a good life for women and families. The Better Future Agenda is our roadmap for that future that defends women from Trump and Republicans’ attacks and demands a better future. It is not just our vision for the future—it is our plan to fight for the economic security, health, and safety of all women and girls. We’re striving to do more than just stop bad policy. We’re building a future where every woman and girl has the freedom and security to thrive.

If you haven’t already, please join our community, share your story, and follow along to support our work for a better future. The DWC is fighting for you every day, and we will never give up.
