Better Future Agenda

The Democratic Women’s Caucus (DWC) is fighting for the economic security, health, and safety of all women and girls. At 97 members strong, we are championing the solutions women want, while leading the fight against Trump and Republicans’ attacks on women and families.

Women and families cannot afford the instability and economic hardship created by Trump and Republicans. We demand a future that:

• Improves financial security through lower costs, fair taxes, and protection of basic needs programs.
• Addresses workplace inequities including wage inequality and paid leave.
• Promotes access to quality education from early childhood to college to career & technical training.
• Increases access to affordable child care and long-term care.
• Improves working conditions for domestic and care workers.
• Supports women entrepreneurs, farmers, and small business owners.
• Protects a dignified retirement for all and expands Social Security.

Trump and Republicans are ripping away reproductive health care, cutting Medicaid, and gutting women’s health research. We demand a future that:

• Expands health care access and lowers prescription drug costs.
• Protects and expands Medicaid and Medicare.
• Restores & expands reproductive rights and freedoms including access to abortion care, birth control, and fertility care for all.
• Improves maternal health outcomes.
• Preserves and advances women’s health research.
• Combats health care discrimination and criminalization.

Trump and Republicans are threatening the safety of women at home, in the voting booth, in the workplace, and at school. We demand a future that:

• Ends gender-based violence and supports survivors.
• Addresses the gun violence epidemic.
• Secures global human rights, including for immigrant women and girls.
• Confronts discrimination.
• Protects voting rights.
• Promotes democracy and the Constitution.
