ICYMI: DWC Leaders Spotlight Fight for Women and Families at Pennsylvania Town Hall

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Thursday, March 19, Democratic Women’s Caucus (DWC) Chair Teresa Leger Fernández (NM-03), DWC Servicewomen, Women Veterans, & Military Families Task Force Chair Chrissy Houlahan (PA-06) Chrissy Houlahan (PA-06), and DWC Members Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14) and Becca Balint (VT-At Large) attended a town hall hosted by community groups in Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District, Rep. Scott Perry’s district. At the town hall, the DWC members met local moms and caregivers and discussed policy solutions that will uplift Pennsylvania women, workers, and families.

Throughout the evening, Pennsylvanians shared personal stories about the challenges they are facing as the cost of gas, groceries, health care, child care, and other essentials skyrocket. Attendees also raised their concerns about Republicans’ attacks on health care, education, immigrants, and voting rights. Throughout the town hall, Congresswomen Leger Fernández, Houlahan, Ocasio-Cortez, and Balint highlighted the work they are doing in Congress to stand up to Trump and Republicans’ attacks on women and families. They also spotlighted their work to deliver a better future that includes economic security, health care, and safety for women and families in Pennsylvania and across the country.



The town hall was organized by MomsRising in partnership with Pennsylvanians Together in Action, Planned Parenthood Pennsylvania Advocates, Affordable PA, Northern Dauphin Democracy Coalition, Workforce PA, and Red, Wine and Blue.
