Democratic Women’s Caucus Endorses Resolution to Release Epstein Files; Demands Justice for Victims

July 24, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Thursday, July 24, the Democratic Women’s Caucus (DWC), led by Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi (CA-11), endorsed H.Res.581 the Epstein Files Transparency Act, to pursue accountability and justice for the victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his collaborators. As the first woman Speaker of the House, Speaker Emerita Pelosi led the fight for women and children, advocacy she continues to this day.

Speaker Emerita Pelosi joined with DWC Chair Teresa Leger Fernández (NM-03), Vice Chairs Emilia Sykes (OH-13) and Hillary Scholten (MI-03), and Policy Task Force Co-Chairs Deborah Ross (NC-02) and Sydney Kamlager-Dove (CA-37), released the below statement on DWC’s endorsement of the resolution:

“The safety of women and girls remains our top priority. Without safety, nothing else in our agenda for women and girls is possible. We’re deeply committed to supporting victims and survivors of sexual assault and trafficking. The children and young women subjected to trafficking, sexual assault, or other crimes and abuses deserve justice and transparency. We ask: who was involved, who is culpable, who is hiding key information, and why?”

“We are extremely disappointed that President Trump and Republicans in the House have blocked votes to force the release of the files and consideration of H.Res 581. The victims and their loved ones deserve justice and the freedom to move on, whatever that may look like for them. But it will be impossible for them to move forward with President Trump’s lack of transparency and the mess he has caused. As we pursue accountability, we will continue to respect the voices and privacy of the survivors to honor their courage, protect their dignity, and ensure that the full truth comes to light.”
