Washington, D.C. – Today, Democratic Women’s Caucus (DWC) Co-Chairs Congresswomen Brenda Lawrence (MI-14), Jackie Speier (CA-14), and Lois Frankel (FL-21), and Vice Chairs Congresswomen Veronica Escobar (TX-16) and Sylvia Garcia (TX-29) issued the following statement on President Joe Biden’s Executive Order on Protecting Access to Reproductive Health Care Services.
“While Republicans want a nationwide ban on abortion, the Biden-Harris Administration is fighting to expand and protect access to reproductive health care. We applaud the Administration’s tireless work to coordinate implementation of Federal efforts in response to the Supreme Court’s extreme ruling putting the lives and privacy of Americans at risk,” said the Members. “Today’s Executive Order will safeguard patients' privacy, promote the safety and security of patients, providers, and clinics, and support the ability to obtain approved medication. This action from the President is a critical piece in the fight to ensure all women, no matter who they are or where they live, can make the health care decisions that are right for themselves and their families.”
