Washington, D.C. – Today, Democratic Women’s Caucus (DWC) Co-Chairs Congresswomen Lois Frankel (FL-21), Brenda Lawrence (MI-14), Jackie Speier (CA-14), Vice Chairs Congresswomen Veronica Escobar (TX-16), Sylvia Garcia (TX-29), Freshman Representative Congresswoman Sara Jacobs (CA-53), and Whip Congresswoman Nikema Williams (GA-05) were joined by 64 Members of Congress in sending a letter to the business community, urging companies to support their employees who need abortion care.

When people are able to control their own personal decisions and get the health care they need, including abortion care, they are able to plan for their futures and pursue their goals. This will mean workforces that are healthier and more diverse, productive, and equitable,” the Members wrote.

The Members also wrote, “we thank those who have already pledged to facilitate legal access to abortion for their employees, and we hope others will follow this lead.”
