Democratic Women’s Caucus Meets with White House’s Jennifer Klein for Women’s History Month
Washington, D.C. – Today, the Democratic Women’s Caucus (DWC) announced they met with Jennifer Klein, Advisor to the President and Director of the White House Gender Policy Council to discuss the urgent issues facing women across the country, including the upcoming court decision on medication abortion and the work the Biden-Harris Administration is doing to protect women’s health.
DWC Chair Lois Frankel (FL-22) issued the following statement on the meeting.
“The Democratic Women’s Caucus is laser-focused on the issues keeping women up at night—and that’s exactly what we discussed with Gender Policy Council Director Jennifer Klein,” said DWC Chair Frankel. “Even as we celebrate important progress during Women’s History Month, our fight for child care, home care, paid leave, equal pay, abortion rights and so much more continue today—and are more urgent than ever. Our discussion with Jennifer Klein focused on the work ahead this Congress—and with the Administration—to deliver for women. Right now, we’re also all anxiously awaiting a court decision which could block access to medication abortion, and poses a huge threat to the FDA and our entire public health system. During our meeting, we also discussed the Biden-Harris Administration’s ongoing work to prepare for the court decision, and the critical fight ahead to safeguard women’s health care decisions in the face of such extreme attacks.”
White House Gender Policy Council Direct Jennifer Klein issued the following statement on the meeting:
“It was an honor to meet with the Democratic Women’s Caucus this evening to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing women at home and abroad – and how the Administration and Congress can work together to advance progress. We remain grateful for the Caucus’ leadership and look forward to continuing to work together to deliver on the President’s agenda for women and families.”
