Democratic Women’s Caucus Leadership Supports Efforts to Help Families Keep Up with Rising Costs
Washington, D.C. – Today, Democratic Women’s Caucus (DWC) Chair Lois Frankel and DWC Vice Chairs Teresa Leger Fernández (D-NM) and Nikema Williams (D-GA) issued the following statement in response to the House vote on the Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act. The bill passed the House by a vote of 357-70.
“The Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act is a step forward to help working families keep up with rising costs, help small businesses provide good jobs to raise a family on, and help build more affordable housing for families.”
“The Democratic Women’s Caucus will continue working to expand the child tax credit because we learned that when we pass a fully refundable and adequate tax credit as we did in 2021, we can lift millions more children out of poverty.”
Numerous organizations supported the bipartisan bill, including Zero to Three, Mom's Rising, First Five Years Fund, Center for Law and Social Policy, and National Partnership for Women & Families.
