Democratic Women’s Caucus Cheers Julie Su’s Nomination for Secretary of Labor: “A Champion for Working Women”

Washington, D.C. – Today, Democratic Women’s Caucus (DWC) Chair Lois Frankel (FL-22) issued the following statement on President Biden’s nomination of Julie Su to serve as Secretary of Labor.

Julie Su currently serves as Deputy Secretary of Labor and was formerly California Labor Secretary. She is the first AAPI (Asian American Pacific Islander) woman to be nominated as Secretary of Labor.

“Julie Su has spent her career fighting to protect workers’ rights, and she understands that supporting working women will help build a stronger, more fair economy for everyone,” said DWC Chair Lois Frankel. “Julie Su is a champion for women, plain and simple, and the Democratic Women’s Caucus is glad to see President Biden make this historic nomination.”
